Most Powerful Use of Insight in High Volume Fundraising

This category is looking for evidence of where insight has significantly improved the performance of a fundraising programme targeted at mass audiences. This could be in Individual Giving, Legacy Fundraising, Events, Lotteries or other similar programmes.

Entries must demonstrate the impact that the insight project had on an area of mass fundraising. In addition to looking for excellence in the way the insight project was planned and run, we want to see how it was used by the fundraising team and the impact it had for them and their donors.

May be entered by any IoF member fundraising organisation (in tandem with their supplier(s) where appropriate). The majority of the project's time span must fall within the calendar year 2019.

Strengths of your entry:
Why should your entry win? Please provide three characteristics or reasons that demonstrate how your insight project was essential for the fundraising strategy and/or implementation. (200 words max).

Objectives/background context:
Describe the circumstances in which the project was initiated. What were the challenges faced by the organisation; what business drivers shaped the resulting goals - and what were those goals? (200 words max).

How was the initiative developed to achieve its goals? What was smart about the approach to the solution? What issues were encountered and how were they addressed? How was the fundraising team involved in developing the methodology? (300 words max).

Results and insights:
Summarise the key results and insights delivered by the project. It is essential that you can demonstrate the benefits that the insight provided for the fundraising team and the effectiveness of their fundraising strategy and/or campaigns. Please note that the provision of results is vital for the judging process and must be supplied. If you do not wish specific results to be published, please indicate this. However, please do consider providing measures that can be made public to explain why your project was successful, for example, by indexing etc. (300 words max).

Please provide an approved summary of your entry - this summary will be published in the awards ceremony programme if your entry is successful. (100 words max).

Supporting Image Upload
Please attach an image, such as a photo or logo, to illustrate your nomination on the website and printed materials should your entry be successful.
The file should be in JPG, BMP or PNG formats, big enough for use in printed material, but not greater than 2MB in size.
The image file should be titled with the name of your organisation plus the name of the relevant award category.
